Position Overview

The Office Coordinator and Community Engagement Officer will oversee the daily operations of the Murgon office, managing client intake processes and customer service operations. This role is essential in ensuring that community members receive timely and effective support while facilitating a welcoming environment for all.

The position involves direct engagement with clients with diverse cultural backgrounds to assess their needs, provide appropriate resources, and ensure a seamless connection to services. Additionally, the officer will coordinate office functions and assist in administrative tasks to support staff and programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Murgon Community Services office, including administration and coordination tasks
• Manage the client intake process, providing empathetic support and ensuring confidentiality
• Evaluate client needs and connect them to appropriate internal or external services
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with community partners and stakeholders
• Coordinate outreach initiatives to engage with hard-to-reach community members
• Ensure the office environment is organised, welcoming, and well-resourced

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in community services, customer engagement, and administrative operations. We are looking for a motivated individual who values empathy and collaboration in their work.

• Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field (desirable)
• Experience in frontline customer service and office management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in client management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, and mental health
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

A commitment to cultural sensitivity and awareness is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly to meet client needs, including occasional out-of-hours events.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $38.65 per hour, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Social and Community Services Worker Level 3.1. Salary packaging options are available to enhance your overall remuneration.
