About the Role:

The Disability Area Coordinator provides operational leadership across Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Access, Centre-Based Supports and In-Home Supports, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that support positive participant outcomes. Reporting to the General Manager – Disability and Allied Health, this role is responsible for leading teams, overseeing service quality and compliance, managing operational performance, and driving continuous improvement. The position plays a key role in workforce leadership, participant safety, stakeholder engagement and service growth, ensuring services align with NDIS Practice Standards, legislative requirements and organisational objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of disability services across SIL, Community Access, Centre-Based Supports and In-Home Supports.

  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching and performance management to support a capable and engaged workforce.

  • Coordinate workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

  • Support participant intake, service commencement and ongoing service coordination to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Ensure the delivery of person-centred, trauma-informed supports that promote participant choice, independence and goal attainment.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with participants, families, carers, guardians, support coordinators and other key stakeholders.

  • Monitor service quality and compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, legislative requirements and organisational policies.

  • Lead the management of incidents, complaints, risks and restrictive practices, ensuring appropriate investigation, reporting and follow-up.

  • Oversee service performance, funding utilisation and operational targets to support service sustainability and growth.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning, service development and organisational change activities.

About You:

We are looking for a confident, hands-on leader who has extensive experience within the NDIS landscape and enjoys leading a team in day-to-day service delivery. This is someone who is happy to jump in, support the team, problem solve and contribute to positive outcomes in a practical and collaborative way. You'll be passionate about leading strong teams and high-quality service delivery for participants. You’ll enjoy guiding and mentoring staff, helping build confidence, capability and consistency within the team. You understand the importance of clear communication, teamwork and contributing to a positive team culture.

This role is based in Toowoomba, so being able to work independently, stay connected and build strong relationships is important. We’re looking for someone who can communicate openly and consistently to facilitate connection across teams and programs within the broader organisation.

You’ll be comfortable leading a team through change and integration activities, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and assisting with service development opportunities across the program.

Most importantly, you’ll be approachable, resilient, values-driven and genuinely passionate about making a difference for participants, families and the team.
