Own the automation behind the next generation of Australian feedlots.

Bovine Technologies is an Australian AgTech company building the control and intelligence layer for the cattle feedlot industry. We automate FlakeBOSS steam-flaking mills - the heart of a feedlot's grain processing - and we are building toward plants that run with increasing autonomy.

This is a foundational hire. You will be the technical owner of our mill automation: PLC code, HMI, commissioning, and the engineer the customer calls when a plant needs attention. There is real room to grow into a Head of OT role as we scale.

What you'll do

• Own the automation scope on FlakeBOSS mill projects - Allen-Bradley / Studio 5000 PLC programming, HMI configuration, and integration.

• Run factory and site acceptance testing, and commission plants on site, from power-up to production.

• Be first-line support for live sites, including the occasional out-of-hours call during go-live.

• Work at the OT/IT boundary, helping mill data flow cleanly into our Ignition-based platform.

• Bring the same rigour to our next-generation dosing equipment as it comes online.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in industrial automation, controls, or process engineering, with strong hands-on PLC experience.

• Fluency in Allen-Bradley / Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk) and confidence with EtherNet/IP, Modbus and OPC UA.

• Minimum 5 years advanced Allen-Bradley/Studio 5000 PLC programming experience is essential for this role.

• A real commissioning track record - you've walked into a plant, found an undocumented mess, and made it work.

• RPEQ-registered, or eligible to register within 12 months (essential in Queensland).

• Candidates must obtain RPEQ registration within a maximum timeframe of 12 months if not currently registered.

• A communicator who can talk to an electrician, a plant manager and a CEO in the same morning.

• Australian working rights and a current driver's licence.

Nice to have

• Ignition experience (SCADA / Edge).

• Feed-milling, grain-handling, food-processing or feedlot automation experience.

• A Queensland electrical licence (strongly preferred, not required).

Done with the roster? This is the meaty, hands-on automation work you actually enjoy - real plant, real commissioning - but home-based in Toowoomba, not flown to a camp. Site travel is day trips and the occasional short stint during a go-live, not a 2-and-1. Sleep in your own bed, make it to your kid's game on the weekend, and still work on serious industrial systems. Permanent, stable and competitively paid, so you're trading the FIFO grind for your life, not your income.
