Purpose of the Role

Agriculture has a branding problem. People still think it's muddy boots, long days and low-tech jobs. Reality check - Modern agriculture is one of the most sophisticated industries on the planet. AI. Robotics. Precision systems. Carbon markets. Data analytics. Global trade. Satellite technology. Autonomous machinery. Food security. Energy transition.

TSBE is launching RealTime Ag - a bold, industry-led pilot designed to rethink how people learn about agriculture and build careers in it. This isn't another pathways program. This is about building a workforce movement around one of the world's most important industries.

As Project Manager, you will lead the design, development and delivery of this ambitious pilot, bringing together industry, education, government and community stakeholders to create a modern, future-focused workforce model that could become a national benchmark for agricultural workforce innovation.

We are looking for someone who can challenge thinking, inspire collaboration and help position agriculture as the career of choice for NOW.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of the RealTime Ag pilot project.

• Build strong partnerships across industry, education, government and community sectors.

• Influence the design and delivery of contemporary agricultural training and workforce development initiatives that reflect the evolving needs of industry.

• Engage employers to identify workforce needs and create meaningful career story’s.

• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, meetings and consultation processes.

• Support the development of internships, micro-credentials, workplace immersion opportunities and innovative learning models.

• Drive storytelling, communications and engagement activities that challenge outdated perceptions and delivery of agriculture.

• Monitor project outcomes, performance indicators, budgets and reporting requirements.

• Identify opportunities to scale and sustain the program beyond the pilot phase.

• Act as an ambassador for the project and for the future of agriculture across the Darling Downs.

Essential

Desirable

• Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder engagement or program delivery.

• Demonstrated commercial or industry experience within agribusiness, AgTech, education, training, regional development, innovation or community engagement.

• Understanding that agriculture is a global industry, shaped by challenges such as food security, sustainability, technology and climate resilience, and an appreciation of Australia's critical role within it.

• Experience in communications, storytelling, marketing or industry advocacy.

• Knowledge of the Darling Downs and regional Queensland agricultural landscape.

Other Requirements

• Ability to travel within the region and interstate as required.

• Current driver's licence.

• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

• A genuine belief that agriculture is one of the most important and innovative industries on the planet.
