CLO Lawyers is a vibrant, modern, and growing law firm committed to delivering exceptional legal services and outstanding client care. Our Family Law Department currently comprises four lawyers and continues to experience significant growth. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant to become an integral part of our team.

This role will primarily support the Senior Director who heads our Family Law Department and will be central to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their practices.

 About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding position that combines client service, matter management, administration, and legal support.  You will be the first point of contact for many family law clients and will play a critical role in maintaining exceptional client experiences from the outset.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing incoming client enquiries and conducting initial client contact.

• Scheduling and coordinating initial consultations and ongoing appointments.

• Managing diaries and scheduling for the Senior Director and solicitor.

• Opening and maintaining files in LEAP Legal Software.

• Preparing and drafting routine family law correspondence and legal documents.

• Following up outstanding correspondence and client requests.

• Managing invoicing and billing processes.

• Preparing trust transfer requests and liaising with internal accounts staff and external parties.

• Assisting with court and matter administration.

• Maintaining accurate records and file management systems.

• Providing general paralegal and administrative support to the Family Law team.

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Previous experience as a Family Law Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar legal support role (highly regarded).

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with clients experiencing difficult personal circumstances.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong computer skills and confidence using legal practice management systems (experience with LEAP is advantageous).

• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused attitude.

While family law experience is preferred, we would also love to hear from candidates who demonstrate a genuine interest in family law, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to develop their skills within a supportive and experienced team.
