Tareve Transport & Heavy Haulage is a rapidly growing transport and logistics company delivering specialised services across Australia. Our operations span Bulk Haulage, Heavy Haulage, Container Transport & Logistics, supporting clients across the mining, agriculture and industrial sectors.

As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this newly created role will play a critical part in shaping the future growth, performance and operational excellence of the business.

About the Role

The Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across all business divisions, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable service delivery while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting our continued growth objectives.

You will be responsible for leading operational teams, driving performance, improving systems and processes, managing project profitability and ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations across Bulk Haulage, Heavy Haulage, Container Logistics and Maintenance divisions.

• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all WHS, NHVR, Chain of Responsibility and client requirements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Work closely with the Managing Director to implement strategic growth initiatives and business objectives.

• Monitor operational performance, utilisation, productivity and profitability across all projects and divisions.

• Manage project budgets, operational costs and financial performance to ensure commercial outcomes are achieved.

• Review and improve operational systems, processes and reporting frameworks.

• Lead, mentor and develop supervisors, allocators, maintenance personnel and administration teams.

• Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation and project mobilisation activities.

• Support tender submissions, pricing reviews and business development opportunities.

• Ensure fleet maintenance programs support operational requirements and maximise equipment availability.

• Manage operational risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Significant leadership experience within transport, logistics, mining services, or heavy haulage.

• Strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations, transport logistics and fleet management.

• Proven ability to manage multiple operational divisions simultaneously.

• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, project costs and financial performance.

• Exceptional leadership and people management skills.

• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility obligations and transport compliance requirements.

• Excellent problem-solving, planning and decision-making capabilities.

• Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience leading business growth, operational improvement and change management initiatives.
