About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Leader or Store Manager to lead our Newsagency at our Toowoomba store. This is a full-time position based in Toowoomba, QLD 4350, where you will be responsible for the overall performance, and customer experience of the store. As Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, building a high-performing team, and ensuring our store remains a destination for our customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Leading, motivating, and developing a diverse team of retail staff to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales performance

2. Overseeing all aspects of store operations, including stock management, inventory control, and merchandise displays

3. Implementing company policies, procedures, and visual merchandising standards to maintain consistent brand presentation

4. Recruiting and training team members.

5. Managing customer relations and resolving complaints or issues with professionalism.

6. Monitoring stock levels, managing orders, and optimising inventory to minimise shrinkage and wastage

7. Reporting on store performance and sales to senior management.

8. Liaising with head office on marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and new product launches

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Team Leader or as a Store Manager . Preferably management role in a Newsagency.

2. Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate, develop, and manage a team effectively.

3. Excellent understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, stock control, and merchandising.

4. Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.

5. The ability to engage with staff at all levels.

6. Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenges.

7. Knowledge of retail systems, point-of-sale (POS Browser or similar), exceptional experience in Lotto.

8. Flexibility and willingness to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

9. A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel if required.
