Story Fresh is a 4th generation seed-to-store farming company supplying the east coast of Australia and export customers with ready-to-eat, fresh leafy salad products. The leafy vegetables are grown locally and processed in a state of the art processing facility at Cambooya. THE ROLE

We are looking for the lead person for the factory maintenance team. The team is responsible for equipment setup, trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of processing lines, other associated equipment and the facility. This involves preventative maintenance, addressing breakdowns, continuous improvement and new installs. The role involves both management and operations, with a clear expectation to demonstrate leadership in maintenance situations across the range of disciplines.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead by example with active lead from the front involvement in daily operational activities

• Manage and train the team, through forward planning, good communication and a strong and effective maintenance response on a daily basis 

• Rapid, focused and effective diagnostic and problem solving ability to address equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime

• Foster overall factory performance and the maintenance team's contribution with a positive and proactive attitude to the role's responsibilities and interactions with others

• Coordinate, monitor, stock take, order and approve spare parts inventory 

• Implement the MEX software system for scheduling of preventative maintenance, record keeping and repair management

• Ensure all Quality System requirements are complied with in a timely manner particularly regarding calibration, verification and internal audits

• Drive continuous improvement, manage installs and supervise modifications with the Company's mechatronic engineer

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Trade qualification best suited is an electrician or fitter or similar

• Work experience in a food manufacturing environment and preferably with processing lines

• Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude 

• Experience in a range of associated disciplines is desirable – pneumatics, refrigeration, restricted electrical, TIG welding etc

• Team player, motivated, can-do, positive attitude with attention to detail

• Willingness and aptitude for learning as well as training

• Proficient in using a computer

• Prefers early starts and able to do some maintenance on weekends when required

• Strives for continuous improvement and contributes to delivery and future opportunities
